Surface Mimicry with textiles


In the summer of 2016, Gucci unveils a new series of Gucci garden.  the collection presents a beautiful compilation of floral and animal motifs from the world of Alessandro Michele.It input some Biomimicry elements inside this series, such as the kingsnake, the bee ,the heart, and the butterfly, surrounded  by a garden of flowers, ladybugs, birds and colored beetles. These are rich in surface textures, the veins of the butterfly’s wing interlace,

Presented in colorful tempera brushstrokes the now iconic kingsnake, thought to represent the source of life, is surrounded by a garden of florals, butterflies, bees and ladybugs—symbols of rebirth and good fortune.
